Barely two days after being appointed as head coach for South Africa’s Black Leopards FC, former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets vice coach, Peter Mponda has led the team to their first ever victory in the new season.
Leopards beat Upington City 1-0 in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The Namibian, Bathuel Mzeu scored the only goal of the match which has ended Leopards’ poor run of form since the start of the season.
This is the first win for the team in five games this season and has taken them from position 16 to 13 on the log table after accumulating 4 points in 5 games.
Mpondas who was the vice coach replaced Spaniard Alejandro Dorado who was sacked during the week following the team’s poor performance in the league.
