Nchalo Lions Club Donates Trash Bins

By Shaffie A Mtambo

In a commendable effort to enhance hygiene and environmental sustainability in public spaces, the Nchalo Lions Club has donated and installed 14 trash bins across major trading centers along the Lower Shire stretch. This initiative is a shining example of community-led development and environmental stewardship.

The trash bins have been strategically placed in Dyeratu, Domasi, Nchalo, Miseufolo, and Ngabu markets, where they will serve as a reminder to traders and customers alike to adopt responsible waste disposal practices.

According to Huddon Kabanga, President of the Nchalo Lions Club, the donation aims to improve hygiene standards in these busy markets and promote a cleaner environment.

“We hope the presence of these bins will reduce littering and create a cleaner environment for both traders and customers,” Kabanga said, highlighting the club’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

The initiative has received widespread acclaim, with Austin Vumbe, Chairperson of Ngabu Market, expressing his gratitude to the Nchalo Lions Club.

“The bins will go a long way in helping maintain cleanliness and improve the image of the market,” Vumbe said, acknowledging the positive impact of the donation.

This exemplary initiative by the Nchalo Lions Club serves as a call to action for other community groups and organizations to prioritize environmental sustainability and community development. By working together, we can create cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable public spaces for everyone.
