A new political party called Malawian Dream Party (MDP), has been established ahead of the 2025 general elections.
In an interview with 247 Malawi News, MDP President Mussa Zalira, said the party has been formed to end the tenancy of electing recycled politicians who fail to govern the nation.
He said the party is made up of youths who for a long time have been denied to participate in political activities.
“We want to abolish recycled politics in the country. This country is for everyone not a certain group of people. We want youths to also actively participate in political activities. However, we urge the young people to contest in various political positions,” said Zalira.
He said that MDP’s vision is to help Malawi recover from its current economic woes and promote collective prosperity.
According to Zalira, the country’s economy is in shambles, and the people are suffering.
He emphasized that the MDP seeks to eliminate poverty and reduce inequality through immediate national aspirations, making it a collective responsibility.
He added:”The party’s primary goal is to eradicate income poverty and reduce inequality, ensuring that the country’s wealth is shared more equitably among its citizens.
“Additionally, the MDP aims to tackle the high cost of living, which has been a significant burden on Malawians.”
Zalira urged citizens to stay tuned as the party articulates its manifesto, which will outline the MDP’s plan to turn things around for a better Malawi.
Born on March 23,1984, Zalira is a companionate, hardworking and excellent team player who is always ready to dedicate himself to anything that is created for the betterment of the less fortunate society.
