The member of parliament for Nkhata-bay South constituency Dr Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma cheered over 1000 needy people in his constituency as part of the new year celebrations.
Ng’oma who is also the new Minister of Mining spent the day at Chifira while interacting with the needy people on how he can help to improve their lives.
Speaking on Wednesday during the event, Ng’oma said that he usually celebrates with the needy people in his constituency considering that they are neglected by the society in most spheres of life.
Ng’oma noted that more efforts are needed to uplift the lives of the elderly, widows and the disabled people.
He then appealed to non- governmental organizations and other well-wishers to work with the government in implementing activities that are aimed at improving the welfare of the marginalized groups of people.
Each beneficiary received assorted items and k10,000.
