He was welcomed today into MCP by President Chakwera at a rally that took place in Area 24 Lilongwe

Sheikh Ntenje, a prominent Islamic leader and respected figure in Malawian politics, was  among the esteemed guests being welcomed into the MCP at a rally in Area 24, Lilongwe, this afternoon, that included former DPP Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey and DPP senior member Dr Hetherwick Ntaba

“Grezelder Geoffrey and Sheikh Imran Ntenje’s defections are a significant loss for the DPP,”said a political analyst who in true sense support MCP.
“Their departure will weaken the party’s structures and make it harder for them to mount a credible challenge to the MCP in the next elections,” Concluded an MCP political analyst sympathizer.

Sheikh Ntenje’s move to join the MCP is also seen as a strategic one, as it brings together two influential figures – himself and Hon. Geoffrey – who are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the party’s future though they are a spent force in politics.

“The MCP has pulled off a masterstroke by attracting two high-profile defectors in one day.

“This will undoubtedly strengthen their position and make them a more formidable force in Malawian politics,”said another MCP political commentator.

President Chakwera, who has been working to unite the country since taking office hailed Sheikh Ntenje and Hon. Geoffrey’s decisions as a significant step towards achieving national unity.

“Their joining the MCP is a testament to the party’s commitment to inclusivity and national unity,”

Sheikh Ntenje and Hon. Geoffrey’s decisions to join the MCP are a clear indication that politics is indeed a game of numbers, and alliances can make or break a party’s fortunes.

The nation will be watching with keen interest as this unprecedented alliance unfolds, marking a historic moment in the annals of Malawi’s narrative.
