Mighty Wakawaka Tigers goalkeeper, Innocent Nyasulu, saved two penalties to keep a clean sheet and win the man of the match award to help the team move out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Dedza Dynamos at the Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the TNM Super league.

Nyasulu saved Clement Nyondo and Edward Dakalira’s spot kicks in either half but two precious goals from Precious Chiudza and Precious Chipungu were enough to seal a first win in more than five games to move out of the danger zone.

Head coach for Tigers, Christopher Nyambose, was very happy with the result saying he saw the win coming and this is a starting point for the team to get more wins.

“I am very happy and I saw it coming because we are playing very well, in our past games we were just unlucky not to score but we have worked on that so we needed the winning formula.

“We can not get convinced with this win and we need to win more as we are still bottom,” said Nyambose.

On his part, Gilbert Chirwa, coach for Dedza Dynamos said the officiation gifted Tigers the second goal plus their penalty misses cost them to drop points.

“It was a good game, yes our friends scored but the second one the referee just gave them, it was offside. We missed two penalties, its hard to understand but it’s what happens in Football, its was in the hands of the players but I saw them missing,” Said Chirwa.

Both sides looked aggressive at the start of the match as they attacked at each other’s goal then Clement Nyondo was fouled in the box by Kelvin Banda on 14th minute which he took himself but Nyasulu saved the ball.

Two minutes later, Precious Chipungu put Tigers with a fine goal after met by Precious Chiudza but Dedza Dynamos started dominating the game.

Chiudza doubled the scores on 33rd minute after beating the offside trap from a Frank Chikufenji’s free kick and Tigers went at half time leading by a goal.

Charles Chipala shot over on 50th minute for Dynamos before Nyondo winning another penalty on 60th minute but Nyasulu denied again Edward Dakalira.

Mezaya Kachingwe was replaced by Bright Mtondagowa on 62nd minute then Dynamos made three chances, Promise Kamwendo, Chifuniro Mpinganjira and Victor Lungu coming in for Dakalira, Lameck Gamphani and Ibrahim Sadick on 71st minute.

Matthews Salirana also came in for Charles Chipala on 84th minute but it was done and dusted as Tigers cruised to a big win.

The win takes Tigers four steps up to 11th position with 18 points from 18 games while Dedza while Dedza Dynamos moved two steps down to 9th as they have 22 points from 18 games as well.

At the end of the game, Innocent Nyasulu got his fifth man of the match award of the season.
