On Thursday, August 1, 2024, President Lazarus Chakwera joined the Mzuzu University community for its 26th congregation, where he conferred academic credentials to the first graduating cohort of 668 students out of 2,652. As Chancellor of Mzuzu University, Chakwera commended the institution for its commitment to academic excellence through its high-quality, industry-tailored, and multi-disciplinary programs, which align with national development goals.
In his address, President Chakwera encouraged the new graduates to demonstrate their understanding, problem-solving skills, and creativity in their future endeavors. He emphasized the importance of applying their education to make tangible contributions to society.
Chakwera also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting Mzuni by providing both physical and conceptual infrastructure to foster a problem-solving academic culture. This commitment is aimed at enhancing the university’s ability to address complex challenges and contribute effectively to national development.
