President Chakwera hosted world renowned and UK-based Malawian comedian Daliso Chaponda at Kamuzu Palace today, Monday, 15th August 2022. His Excellency encouraged Daliso to continue waving Malawi’s flag high across the world and being the national treasure that he is.
For his part, Daliso thanked the President for supporting the arts by creating an environment in Malawi where freedom of expression is truly respected. He also committed to continue bringing comedy shows to Malawi, now that Malawi is a place where his craft is welcome.
Daliso also introduced the President to Ugandan comedian Salvado, and the two took turns to make the President laugh with their jokes before thanking him for his uncommon humility, generosity, and hospitality.
