President Chakwera mourns Brian Ng’oma

The Malawi leader President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera on Sunday joined thousands of Malawians in mourning the late Brian Ng’oma who was brother to the Minister of Homeland Security, Dr Ken Zikhale Ng’oma.

Delivering the condolence message on behalf of Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Secretary General Elsenhower Mduwa Mkaka said the President was so suddened and
devastated  with the death.

He said this is fourth person who has died following the death of three others within two month.

Paul Ng’oma , son to Ken Zikhale Ng’oma said the family has really been affected with the demise of their young.

He said memories are still fresh following the demise of their three relations.

He gave an example that on 8 May, 2024 the family also lost Gibson Chilela, uncle to Ken Zikhale Ng’oma.

It was only few days when he also lost his first born daughter Cynthia .

These death shocked traditional Authority Malengamzoma of Nkhata-bay district who  described the demise of  Gibson Chilela, an uncle to the Minister of Homeland Security Dr Kenneth Zikhale as a big loss, saying that  late Chilela was a pillar and custodian of Tonga culture.

The Chief said,  late Chilera was someone who was passionate about respecting and preserving the Tonga culture.

He further pointed out that late Chilera left a gap because his knowledge and wisdom was iconic in ensuring unity in his chieftainship.

Late Gibson Chilera died at the age of 92 and the body was laid to rest in Nkhata-bay district.

Late Brian Ng’oma has survived by a wife and four children. He has since been laid to rest today at Area 18 cemetery.
