President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to developing the country through infrastructure projects, aiming to enhance transportation of goods for farmers and create a conducive business environment.
Speaking during a whistle-stop tour at Ntchisi Boma on Wednesday, President Chakwera acknowledged the challenges posed by natural disasters, which have hindered entrepreneurship and farming in the district, leading to decreased harvests and limited resources for farmers.
He emphasized the government’s support for the hardworking people of Ntchisi, affected by El Niño weather, and highlighted initiatives like irrigation farming, rain-fed agriculture, Social Cash Transfer, and Affordable Input fertilizer.
On his part,Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture Richard Chimwendo Banda commended the government’s interventions and stressed the need for inclusive benefits.
Senior Chief Malenga appreciated the government for various development projects that are taking place Ntchisi district.
