Blantyre – Chairperson of the Presidential Charity Golf Initiative Committee, Mr. Vizenge Kumwenda, has praised President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera for his unwavering support of the initiative. Speaking just before the president’s address at the awards ceremony, Kumwenda emphasized the profound impact the charity golf event has had on improving the lives of students in need and survivors of natural disasters.
Kumwenda highlighted the president’s presence at the event as a powerful statement of commitment to helping the vulnerable. “Your Excellency, we are deeply grateful for your involvement in this initiative. It has made a significant difference in the lives of students who would otherwise struggle to continue their education, as well as for those who have been affected by natural calamities,” Kumwenda said
.
The Presidential Charity Golf event, held at the Limbe Country Club, brought together golfers from across the country to raise funds for these important causes. Kumwenda noted that the resources generated from the event would go a long way in supporting various charitable efforts, including scholarships for needy students and relief programs for disaster survivors.
Kumwenda also expressed hope that the initiative would continue to grow in future editions, further expanding its reach to benefit more communities across Malawi.
As President Chakwera took to the podium afterward, he reaffirmed his dedication to uplifting Malawians in need and praised the efforts of the committee in organizing such a successful event.
