Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and wife donate K30 million to Police Unit construction in Lilongwe

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, leader of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church, alongside his wife Mary, have pledged K30 million towards the construction of a new police unit in Area 43, Lilongwe. This announcement came during the ground breaking ceremony for the project, with Deputy Inspector General of the Malawi Police Service, Happy Mkandawire, serving as the guest of honour.

Bushiri emphasized the critical importance of security in fostering sustainable development within communities. He called upon local residents to unite and contribute their resources towards the fulfillment of this project, which was initially conceived in 2017.

The presence of dignitaries such as Lilongwe City Mayor Esther Sagawa and Member of Parliament for Lilongwe City Centre, Alfred Jiya, underscored the significance of the initiative within the local governance and community development framework.

The donation from Prophet Bushiri and his wife marks a substantial contribution towards enhancing law enforcement capabilities in Area 43, reflecting their commitment to promoting safety and security within the community where they reside.
