Six Malawian passengers have died following the accident involving a South African bus that was traveling to Johannesburg, South Africa from Blantyre, Malawi on Sunday afternoon.
According to the confirmed reports, the accident happened around Tete Province in Mozambique.
Malawi Consul General for Tete Province Happy Saka also confirmed of the accident with local media saying the bus carried 125 passengers, and that out of the 125, six ( four women and two children) died on the spot while several others sustained various degrees of injuries.
“The consulate can confirm to you that it is true that the accident has happened an hour ago, and dead bodies have been taken to Mwanza district hospital,”said Saka.
He concluded that among those injured, 12 had been categorized as being seriously injured.
