The Malawi community in Manchester,UK is in shock after a 14-year-old boy was stabbed to death . The Victim has been named as Nathaniel Shani, who is of Malawi origin.
Police confirmed overnight the boy had died following an incident at Tavistock Square, in Harpurhey, on Friday evening (September 15).
The teenager was rushed to hospital after being knifed. Paramedics worked on him at the scene. A murder investigation is now underway
Officers arrested another 13-year-old boy in connection with the attack. He remains in custody for questioning this morning (Saturday).
Officers remain at the scene, with three forensic tents in place around Tavistock Square. Three police vehicles are currently in attendance, while a cordon remains in place.
Two boys – aged 13 and 14 – have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Paying tribute to Nathaniel, his family said: “Nathaniel was a best friend to many, he never failed to make people laugh. Nathaniel was very kind, caring and always thinking of others.
“He was polite and the most loving person. He would always put other people first without a thought. He was an amazing brother and son to his parents and siblings.
“Our hearts are left broken. Rest in paradise to the most kindest soul.”
