Say no to DPP, the party which killed 20 people

By Linda Kwanjana

It was a day like this, 20 July, 2023 when the then ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) killed 20 people.

Twelve years down the line DPP remains a party in history which has a habit of torture as well as serial killings.

It is believed that DPP will not change because currently Malawi is still witnessing some DPP cadres garnishing panga knives.

DPP has been using the DPP young democrats to deal with its opponents.

Victims of the 20th July brutally

Reflecting on the current status, its sad that today we have some people who are calling for the DPP come back. These people are calling people on pretext that some people wants their party President Peter Mutharika.

The first question is which people wants DPP and APM back?

Memory are still fresh that DPP apart from killing 20 people on 20 July also killed many people.

DPP nearly killed Senior Chief Wimbe and former Malawi Congress Party treasure general Hetherwick Ntaba and the party president Dr Gwanda Chakuamba.

The only crime Senior Chief Wimbe committed was accomodating the the two party officials.

Malawi should not think of bringing back DPP because memories of how the party through the Youth Cadets terrorised the country.
