The Malawi National Council of Sports ( MNCS) has announced the appointment of Shephord Boma as the Governance, Audit and Ethics Commission for African Union Sports Council(AUSC) Region 5
According to a statement which 247 Malawi has in possession, signed by Edgar Ntulumbwa, MNCS Public Relations and Communications officer Boma’s appointed is in line with AUSC Region 5 Re-engineering model that was approved by AUSC Region 5 Council of Ministers on December 2,2020 and in accordance with article 24 of the Region 5 Constitution approved by Council Ministers on January 19,2022.
The statement says Boma will serve for the position for a period of two years.
On the similar, AUSC has also appointed Sundizwayo Madise to serve as the council’s Budget, Finance, Risk and Legal Commission.
Madise is also expected to be on the position for a period of two years.
The African Union Sports Council Region 5 is one of the five Regions entrusted with the responsibility to develop sport under the African Union.
The members of the Region comprise of:Angola,Botswana,Lesotho,Malawi,Mozambique,Namibia,South Africa,Swaziland,Zambia and
Zimbabwe.
