In a thrilling match at Kamuzu Stadium, Silver Strikers pulled off a shocking victory over Nyasa Big Bullets with a last-minute goal from Chinsinsi Maonga.
The match seemed destined to end in a goalless draw until Maonga’s first touch of the ball in added time found the back of the net.
Under the leadership of Peter Mponda, Silver Strikers proved to be unstoppable as they outplayed their opponents in front of a massive crowd of spectators.
Mponda’s tactical changes paid off as he brought on Maonga, who ultimately became the match-winner.
Former Big Bullets coach, Calisto Pasuwa, now in charge of the opposition team, acknowledged the tough loss and praised Mponda’s strategy.
“We concede defeat, you know in football anything happens.
We will see and rectify some areas,” Pasuwa commented after the match.
However, the Big Bullets supporters were not as gracious in defeat, as some were seen pelting stones at their own team’s coach bus in frustration.
Despite the disappointment, both teams now look ahead to their next matches with Silver Strikers riding high on their recent victory.
