Renowned social media influencer and author, Pemphero Mphande, is currently in Mumbai, India, at the invitation of Gleneagles Hospital.
Mphande, who is also the Chairperson of the Pemphero Mphande and Friends Foundation, is on a mission to explore potential partnerships in the healthcare sector.
On Saturday, Mphande met with Dr. Sameer Pagad, Senior Consultant – Cardiology, and Dr. Bipin Chevale, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gleneagles Hospital, to discuss the possibility of setting up a cardiac catheterization lab in Malawi.
The initiative aims to provide affordable and accessible cardiac care to Malawians, reducing the need for overseas treatment and generating foreign exchange.
Mphande emphasized the importance of this project, stating:”If we can make this happen, we can save many lives in Malawi, make cardiac procedures affordable, and bring in much-needed foreign exchange.”
In addition to exploring the cardiac lab initiative, Mphande is also working to forge partnerships with Indian hospitals to provide affordable healthcare options for Malawians.
He held meetings with three hospitals in India, including Gleneagles, to discuss potential collaborations.
Mphande expressed his gratitude to Gleneagles Hospital for sponsoring his trip and inviting him to explore these opportunities.
He also thanked his supporters and followers for their continued encouragement and prayers.
The Pemphero Mphande and Friends Foundation is committed to improving healthcare outcomes in the country, and this initiative marks a significant step towards achieving that goal.
