Malawi, like many other developing countries, has a significant youth population. According to the United Nations Population Fund, approximately 66% of Malawi’s population is under the age of 25. This youthful demographic presents a unique opportunity for entrepreneurship and innovation.
One of the biggest advantages of having a young population is the potential for fresh and innovative ideas. Young entrepreneurs are often more willing to take risks and think outside the box. They are not tied down by traditional ways of doing things and are more likely to embrace new technologies and business models.
Additionally, young entrepreneurs in Malawi can play a significant role in driving economic growth. By starting their own businesses, they can create employment opportunities for themselves and others. This can help to reduce youth unemployment and poverty, which are major issues in the country.
In recent years, there has been a growing interest in entrepreneurship among young people in Malawi. Many programs and initiatives have been launched to support and encourage young entrepreneurs. For example, the Malawi Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) provides training, mentorship, and funding for young entrepreneurs.
There are also several success stories of young entrepreneurs in Malawi. For instance, Kondwani Kachamba Ngwira, a young inventor, who does provide training for free especially in manufacturing processes.
I quote one woman (Doreen Zimtambira) in a post I have gone through about him where she described that these trainings as timely for they would help her achieve financial independence and improve the economy of the country.
I now make a quick analysis. What more if Malawian leaders would be like Kondwani who puts the country, Malawi at heart? Imagine, my small brain begins to think like: should Kondwani Kachamba Ngwira be our leader? His passion for us is more than what we get promised by our politicians.
In a nutshell, the power of young innovative entrepreneurship in Malawi cannot be underestimated. Surely Kondwani Ngwira deserves a recognition, tangible one that would allow him to serve Malawians perfectly. With the right support and encouragement, young entrepreneurs can drive economic growth and create positive change in their communities. I feel like Kondwani should be given a fertile period to serve us.
