One of the country’s leading network providing companies Telecom Networks Malawi ( TNM) Plc on Wednesday April 20,2022 appointed Ted Sauti Phiri as its new Board of Directors Chairperson.
According to the statement, Phiri was appointed upon successfully meeting the post’s education qualifications with much needed experience.
” Mr. Sauti Phiri is a Malawian with over 20-years experience of distinguished career showcased by experience and knowledge in telecoms having worked in several countries in Africa. He has worked at executive level for Airtel in Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Sierra Leone. He has also worked for Helios Towers in Tanzania, Vodafone in Zambia, Econet in Johannesburg and currently serves as the Regional Finance Director of Multichoice for the Southern Africa countries excluding South Africa
” Mr. Sauti Phiri an Alumni of Kamuzu Academy holds a Masters of Business Adminstration from Liverpool University, a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Chemistry and Computer Science from University of Malawi and is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accounts of the UK. Mr. Sauti Phiri has sat on several boards including CDH Investment Bank, Marsh and Malawi Accounts Board in Malawi,” reads his education background and experience in a statement.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) Arnold Mbwana said the company feel excited to have Phiri as Board Chairman.
” We are excited to have Mr. Sauti Phiri as Chairman of the Board and look forward to him bringing his diverse experience across many countries to foster world class standards of service that TNM is renowned for,” said Mbwana.
Telekom Networks Malawi plc (TNM), is a telecommunications service provider in Malawi. Established in 1995, it is the oldest telecommunications company in the country.The telco is a subsidiary of Press Corporation Limited, the largest business conglomerate in Malawi.
