TNM Super League rookies FOMO FC gave away their 2-nil lead to draw 2-2 against Mighty Tigers in an a match played at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors took the lead in the eighth minute through Hussain Hassan and went on to double it in the 22nd minute through Hassan Luwembe.
There was glimmer of hope for the Leo Mpulula coached side as they dominated possession for the good part of the first half but still failed to find the back of the net until the half time whistle.
In the second half, Tigers continued from where they stopped and they were rewarded in the 53rd minute when Danie Shadreck halved the score with a beautiful finish after receiving a pass from Precious Chipungu.
Chipungu then leveled the scores in the 58th minute with a powerful shot outside the 18-yard box.
After the match, Hussain Hassan who scored the first goal of the match, was voted man of the match.
Mighty Tigers and FOMO FC are on position 12 and 13 respectively after accumulating 15 points, 6 points from the drop zone.
On Sunday, Moyale Barracks will host Super League leaders Silver Strikers and Chitipa United will play Kamuzu Barracks at Karonga Stadium on Monday, July 29th.
The games will continue on Wednesday as struggling Bangwe All Stars play defending champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets who are also struggling in the league this season.
Karonga United will play Mzuzu City Hammers as Mafco FC hosts Civil Service United at Chitowe Stadium.
On Thursday 1st August, 2024, bottom placed Baka City will be at home against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers as Creck Sporting play Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos at Civo Stadium.
