TNM Super League: Silver beat Wanderers to move third on the log table

Chimwemwe Idana struck the winner as Silver Strikers beat Mighty Mukuru Wanderers 1-0 in a TNM Super League match played at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) on Monday afternoon.

It was an exciting match with both sides playing a beautiful passing game but it was Idana who managed to hit the back of the net in the 83rd minute.

The former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets player who was also voted player of the match, scored with a beautiful strike after receiving a pass from Atusaye Nyondo.



Despite the loss, the Nomads remain top on the log table with 47 points after playing 25 games.

The central bankers have now moved to position 3 with 43 points from 24 games.

Elsewhere, Chitipa United and Blue Eagles played out to a 2-all draw in another entertaining match played at Karonga Stadium.

Jackson Beza scored for the home side while Kingsley Kuwali and Hendrix Misinde were on target for the visitors.

The other goal for Chitipa was an own goal by Jacob Robert in the 36th minute.

Chitipa are now fourth on the log table with 43 points from 24 games while the area 30 side is on position 11 with 31 points after playing 26 games.

In Lilongwe, it ended goalless between the struggling sides Civil Service United and Red Lions FC.

The army side remain second from the bottom with 22 points from 26 games while Civi are just a step above Red Lions with 26 points from 25 games.
