Mighty Mukuru Wanderers captain Lawrence Chaziya scored the only goal of the match as the Nomads beat Kamuzu Barracks (KB) 1-nil to keep the pressure on TNM Super League leaders Silver Strikers, who were held to a 1-all draw by Chitipa United.
In a match played at Civo Stadium on Thursday afternoon, both Nomads and KB looked so determined to grab maximum points but the the visitors were quick to find the back of the net to ensure that they move six points closer to the Central Bankers.
Chaziya who was also voted man of the match scored with a beautiful header from a corner-kick taken by Stanley Sanudi in the 27th minute.
Elsewhere, league leaders Silver Strikers came from behind to draw 1-all against Chitipa United in a match played at Karonga Stadium.
Ramadhan Ntafu scored for the home side from the penalty spot in the 26th minute but Silver Strikers equalised in the 52nd minute through Charles Chipala.
The Central Bankers remain top on the log table with 44 points from 18 games followed by Wanderers who have now accumulated 38 points from 19 games.
