TNM Super League: Wanderers slumps to a 1-0 defeat against Blue Eagles

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers slumped to a 1-0 defeat against 10-man Blue Eagles FC in a TNM Super League match played at Nankhaka Stadium on Saturday, thanks to Richard Rapson’s second-half goal.

Rapson who was also voted man of the match, scored in the 56th minute after receiving an assist from Micium Mhone to help Eagles cement their second place position in the league.

Rapson was also voted man of the match last weekend end when Blue Eagles thrashed Dedza Dynamos 4-nil at Nankhaka Stadium.



The win means that Eagles who have so far accumulated 56 points, have reduced the gap between themselves and league leaders Nyasa Big Bullets to five points but the area 30 side side have played two games more than the People’s team .

In another match played on Saturday, Bashir Maunde scored from the penalty spot as Civil Service FC beat Ekwendeni Hammers 1-0.

The civil servants are now on number seven on the log table with 41 points from 28 games and they have remained with two games to finish the season.

On Sunday, Moyale Barracks will play struggling TN Stars at Mzuzu Stadium while Karonga United hosts Red Lions at Karonga Stadium.

In the central region, there will be two big games involving Mafco FC and Nyasa Big Bullets at Dedza Stadium as Kamuzu Barracks hosts Silver Strikers at Kasungu Stadium.
