By McLloyd Kudzingo

Nyasa Big Bullets surged four points clear at the top of the TNM Super league as they proved far too strong for Silver Strikers, beating them 3-1 at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.

Bullets who are yet to test defeat this season were on top once Patrick Mwaungulu find the target on 12 minutes with a beautifully taken free kick curving the ball past Silver’s goalkeeper Charles Thom.

Babatunde Adepoju increased Bullets lead at 17 minutes after receiving a cross from Mwaungulu before the Nigerian converted a penalty 6 minutes later to cap off a superb performance by the home side.

The central bankers pulled on back through Stain Davie just a minute before the end of the match after a defensive lapse on the part of the home side.

In another match played on Saturday Mafco FC thrashed Rumphi United 3-nil at Chitowe Stadium.

The Salima-based soldiers relied on Dan Chimbalanga’s goal and Peter Kasonga’ brace to secure maximum points and move to from position 8 to sixth position on the log table.

Blue Eagles and Kamuzu Barracks played out to a goalless draw in a match that was played at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.

The draw means the Eagles have now played three consecutive games without victory and they are on position two with 28 points.

Babatunde Adepoju is now the leading scorer in the league after scoring seven goals followed by Silver Striker’s Stain Davie and Trouble Kajani of Rumphi United who have so far scored six goals each.
