Mighty Mukuru Wanderers came from behind to grab three points in the ongoing TNM Super League, beating Red Lions 2-1 at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday

In the first half, both teams failed to capitalise on scoring chances and it ended goalless.

The Nomads succumbed to the pace and pressure from the Zomba-based soldiers in the 56th minute when Andrew Biyo gave his team the much-deserved lead.

Wanderers quickly responded through former Nyasa Big Bullets striker Chiukepo Msowoya who equalised just three minutes after the Lions’ goal.

Another former Bullets player, Muhammad Sulumba scored the winner for the Lali Lubani boys as he headed-in a Stanley Sanudi corner in the 62nd minute.

Despite the win the Nomads remain third on the log table with 22 points from 11 games while Red Lions are on position 12 with 12 points having played the same number of games as Wanderers.

At Mpira Stadium, Civil Service United relied on Bashir Maunde’s 75th minute spot kick to beat Mighty Tigers 1-0 and snatch the much needed three points away from home.

Elsewhere, Karonga United were 2-1 home winners against TN Stars in a match that was played at Karonga Stadium.

The home side scored through Ramadan Mtafu and Josiah Duwa while Alexander Cosmas pulled one back for the visitors.
