His Excellency, Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi has advised Christians in the country to put their trust in God’s word.
President Chakwera made the remarks today at Botanic Garden in Lilongwe during the inter – denominational prayers to commemorate the Way of the Cross.
In his remarks, President Chakwera called on Christians to always seek God in times of turbulence.
He assured the faith community that if they continue being vigilant in the word of God, all stubborn challenges will be history.
The Malawi leader also called on Christmas to pray that the revival touch both their hands and mindset for a changed Malawi.
During the ceremony, the gathering took turns praying for various challenges rocking the Malawi nation.
The congregation also prayed for peace in Mozambique and for free and fair elections in South Africa.
The theme for this year’s Way of the Cross is ‘Revive us again’ which has been derived from Psalms 85 verses 6 – 7.
