The University of Malawi (UNIMA ) and Mzuzu University (MZUNI) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering joint efforts in research, teaching, and community engagement.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at Ekhaya Luxury Resort in Mangochi .
In his remarks,UNIMA Vice-Chancellor Professor Samson Sajidu highlighted the importance of the partnership, stating that it will facilitate the exchange of innovative ideas and expertise between students and staff.
He said the collaboration is expected to have a profound impact on the academic and research landscape in the country.
On his part,MZUNI Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Wapulumuka Mulwafu described the MoU as a milestone, noting that it marks the first partnership of its kind between public universities in the country.
He emphasized the value of collaboration, stating that by pooling their resources and expertise, the two institutions can achieve great things.
“This partnership is a significant development in the higher education sector in Malawi, and is expected to drive innovation, research, and academic excellence,” said Mulwafu.
