Vakusi Model High Schools in Ntcheu on Saturday awarded the school’s best performing student in the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examination, Victoria Lunduka with a flight from Lilongwe to Blantyre and back.
According to the school’s director Richard Vakusi, the 16-year-old was given the reward after scoring 12 points in the MSCE exams and he believes that the reward will help to motivate other students to work hard in class.
In her remarks, Victoria challenged girls in the country to work hard in school inorder to achieve their dreams.
” I am so excited for this award and I would like to advise my fellow girls to work hard in class and avoid behaviours that could ruin their education,” she said.
The Ntcheu-based girl also thanked the management of Vakusi Model High School for rewarding her with the flight which she described as the greatest experience in her life.
Victoria was accompanied by President of the Independent Schools Association of Malawi (ISAMA) Wycliffe Chimwendo, the Director, Richard Vakusi, Vakusi Model High School Headteacher Keston Kapalamula and other two teachers.
