Wanderers books ticket to FDH Cup semi-final after 4-1 win over KB-To meet rivals Nyasa Big Bullets

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers progressed to the semi-finals of the 2022 FDH Cup after overcoming Kamuzu Barracks on Saturday in a match that took place at Kamuzu Stadium.

Vincent Nyangulu opened the score sheet for the Nomads just seconds before half time when he headed home a Misheck Botomani’s cross.

The Nomads got their second goal just five minutes in the second half through Francis Mkonda who headed home an Adeleke Kolawole’s cross.



Vitumbiko Kumwenda scored the third goal for Wanderers in the 54th minute after he was sent by man of the match Yamikani Chester .

The soldiers pulled one back in the 75th minute through Zeliat Nkhoma who converted a penalty after Wanderers’ goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa committed a foul in the box.

Isaac Kaliati scored the last goal of the match in the 83rd minute with a clinical finish from another Yamikani Chester’s assist.

After the game, Chester got his second man of the match accolade in this year’s FDH Cup as he was also voted man of the match in Wanderers’ 3-nil win against Dedza Dynamos in the round of 16.

The win means the Lali Lubani boys will take on Nyasa Big Bullets FC who secured a 2-nil away victory against Chitipa United on Saturday.

Babatunde Adepoju and Anthony Mfune were on target for the People’s team team to ensure soccer fanatics another mouth-watering Blantyre derby.

In another FDH Cup semi-final clash, Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve will host Blue Eagles FC at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday as Changalume Barracks takes on fellow premier division side Extreme FC at Balaka Stadium.
