By Cedric Nkungula

Malawi Police Service (MPS) says it does not have any evidence connecting Minister of Information and Digitalization Moses Kunkuyu to any of the cases that it is investigating.

The statement is coming after a clip in circulation on social media over the weekend alleged that Lester Maganga, a key suspect in the murder of Allan Witika, Sales Manager of Coca-Cola Beverages Company, revealed that the minister was behind the killing.

Maganga who is currently in police hands is personal assistant to the minister.

Maganga appeared in court on Monday

A statement from National Police Headquarters released on Monday 23rd October 2023, said MPS is currently following up on those behind the malicious audio clips and when arrested, they will be charged and prosecuted accordingly as per the Electronic Transactions and Cyber – Security Act.

Wittika’s body was found dumped in the backseat of his car in Area 15 residential estate in Lilongwe on 20th September, 2023.
