Work of God boundless- Chakwera

President, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has encouraged the faithful in the country to be vigilant in service, saying the work of God is boundless.

He was speaking at Masintha ground in Lilongwe during a ceremony marking the 40th anniversary of the Assemblies of God-Kawale Harvest Temple Church.

“This is a special occasion and as we reflect on this journey we need to understand that salvation is meant for sinners and as church we should work in unity and not in isolation to bring people closer to God,” Chakwera said.

He added that social standing should not restrict people from actively participating in ministry, citing his active role and that of many others in building the Kawale Harvest temple church building.

The President attributed his personal relationship with the church to the fact that it was where he first served as a pastor in the 1980’s after graduating from a pastoral school in South Africa.

Chakwera encouraged the spirit of handwork and integrity among all Malawians saying it is crucial for national building.

Taking the gathering through the church’s history, Senior Pastor for Kawale Harvest Temple, Bishop, MacDonald Chiuza Banda recognised President Chakwera’s integral role in establishing the institution.

Chakwera has since been honoured alongside several other individuals who have received awards of recognition for their exceptional service to the church presented by leader of The Assemblies of God in the country, Bishop, Andrew Dube and Secretary General Rev. Matilda Matabwa.
