Lilongwe City Council (LCC) hosted the FDH Mayor’s Trophy Under-15 finals at Silver Stadium on Friday, 28th February 2024, showcasing the best of young football and netball talent from local schools.
In the netball finals, Kamkodola LEA demonstrated exceptional teamwork and skill, securing a 23-13 victory against Kaliyeka LEA.
In the game of football final was equally intense, with Chidzingwe LEA edging past Chiwoko LEA through penalties.

Her Worship Councillor Esther Sagawa, Mayor of Lilongwe City, commended the teams for their sportsmanship and resilience.
She emphasized the council’s commitment to developing grassroots sports, providing a platform for young talent to shine.
FDH Bank’s sponsorship of the trophy is part of their initiative to give back to the community.
According to Mr. Levi Nkunika, Head of Marketing and Communications at FDH Bank, the trophy helps bring out young sporting talents in primary schools.
The winners of the netball and football tournaments each received 1.5 million Kwacha, while the second runners-up took home 750,000 Kwacha each.
