Malawi’s three top musicians, Zeze Kingston, Eli Njuchi, and Driemo are some of the artists expected to perform at this year’s University of Malawi (Unima) Theatre Festival slated for this coming weekend at the Great Hall in Zomba.
The Festival which will run from 24 to 26 November, will feature Malawian arts ranging from drama, dances, music, comedy and poetry.
Apart from the three musicians, other notable artists who are expected to perform during the festival include Kwathu Drama Group and National Dance Troupe.
Other theatre groups that will perform during the three-day event are YDC Theatre, Young Travellers, Upile Drama Group, Tauka Arts Theatre, Catholic University of Malawi (Cunima) Traveling Theatre, UNIMA Traveling Theatre, Zomba Urban Secondary School Drama Group, Masongola Drama Group, Bethel Girls Academy and Central High School Drama Groups.
The event has been organized by the University of Malawi, through the School of Arts, Communication and Design with support from Tilitonse Fund as well as other organizations, companies and well-wishers.
